Nunns of Grimsby: A Summer of Community, Cars, and Fun!
At Nunns of Grimsby, we’re proud to be more than just a car dealership—we’re deeply involved in the community we serve. Since May, we’ve had the pleasure of participating in a wide range of exciting events, supporting local causes, and fostering connections. Here's a look at some of the key moments from the last few months.
May: Woodhall Spa Country Show
We kicked off the summer season by participating in the Woodhall Spa Country Show. This event was a fantastic day out with a wide range of attractions, from local producers and crafts to livestock and machinery. We showcased a selection of our vehicles, and it was wonderful to connect with visitors and share the latest from Mazda, Subaru, and Isuzu. Events like this remind us of the importance of engaging with the community and celebrating local traditions.

June: Wildlife, Charity, and Armed Forces Support
June was packed with exciting and meaningful activities. One of the highlights was our continued partnership with Jim, aka The Canoe River Cleaner. Using a Mazda MX-30 we lent him, Jim was able to rescue an abandoned otter cub and transport it to a wildlife hospital. It’s always inspiring to see our vehicles used for such important causes, and this collaboration highlights our shared commitment to environmental care.
Later in June, we supported the Grimsby Golf Club Charity Day, where we displayed a range of Mazda, Subaru and Isuzu models. This annual event raises funds for local charities, and it was fantastic to be part of the action.
We were also honoured to take part in the Cleethorpes Armed Forces Parade, where our RAF-liveried MX-5 RF and Isuzu D-Max Pick Up joined the procession through Cleethorpes. Supporting our armed forces and community initiatives is something we take great pride in, and it was even more special to have Jim, the Canoe River Cleaner, join us.

July: Cars, Football, and Community Sponsorship
July saw even more community engagement, starting with a bit of fun. Mr. and Mrs. Cole were lucky enough to win a weekend with our MX-5 RF demonstrator. They even arrived in their own Mk1 MX-5, bringing a nostalgic flair to their weekend adventure. It was great to see the enduring love for the MX-5 and to be a part of their experience.
July also brought Football Fever, as we displayed a range of new Mazda, Isuzu, and Subaru models at the Cleethorpes Town vs. Grimsby Town Football Club match at Myenergi Stadium. It was a brilliant opportunity to engage with football fans and showcase our latest cars while cheering on the teams.
We’re also proud to announce our sponsorship of The Trin Community Sports & Education Centre, a fantastic local facility where young people can grow and learn through sports and education. Supporting the development of the next generation is a cause close to our hearts, and we’re thrilled to have our name on the board!

August: Charity, Environmental Projects, and Silverstone
August was all about combining our love for cars with giving back to the community. We were thrilled to be part of the Humberstone Lions Annual Golf Day, celebrating its 20th anniversary. We displayed a selection of vehicles around the course, helping to raise funds for charity and engaging with participants throughout the day.
Jim, The Canoe River Cleaner, continued his incredible environmental work in August, taking the MX-30 out to conduct litter picks in collaboration with the Grimsby Town Foundation and the Premier League Kicks Project. In a separate event, he led a group of young people in cleaning up riverbanks as part of the Young Minds Matter and RISE Project initiatives. It’s always inspiring to see our community come together for environmental causes, and we’re proud to support Jim in his efforts.
Finally, we capped off August by attending the Silverstone Festival with the MX-5 Owners Club Lincolnshire, where our MX-5 RF joined over 170 other MX-5s. It was an incredible weekend of racing and camaraderie, and we’re already excited to join again next year!

September: Showcasing Cars and Supporting Local Charities
As summer wound down, we participated in the 40th annual Wragby Show and Country Fayre in September. This beloved local event provided a fun day out for families, and we were proud to display our vehicles alongside Jim, The Canoe River Cleaner, to raise awareness about his environmental work.
We also supported the Forrester Boyd Chartered Accountants’ Charity Golf Day at Grimsby Golf Club, an event held in aid of the Lee Bradbury Foundation. It was a great day for a good cause, and we were thrilled to contribute by showcasing our vehicles.
Additionally, in the last week of September, we supplied Cleethorpes Town with a brand new Isuzu D-Max. This means that the team can free up space on coach travel for their supporters - we ensured the vehicle was customised to the team's crest and colours. We were delighted with the outcome - scroll through our Facebook page to see how this turned out!
As we look back on the last few months, we’re filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible community we get to be part of. From wildlife rescues and charity events to football matches and car shows, we’ve been busy—but there’s always more to come!
